Just a day away from the Halloween ruins of WWE NXT, and before the big event, Shawn Michaels jumped on conference call To talk about everything nxt. During the call, Michaels talked a bit about how the brand had changed along the way, and this led to a question from ProWrestling.net, who asked Michaels if he’s changed his style in NXT now that Triple H has called the shots in place of Vince McMahon. Michaels will reveal that the changes have already started while Vince is still around, with Michaels adding that the brand has really turned the corner at Stand & Deliver.
“When 2.0 was first released, there was a bit of… I think detailed management in the beginning, a game plan, if you will. And Deliver, it was just about having a conversation and saying like hey, can we just talk,” he said. Michaels. I’m a good soldier, I’ll do whatever you want, but we’re here on Earth. Here we are, and I feel like I know what you want, but can I do it differently? Can I do this on my way? “

Sean: When 2.0 was released, there was a little bit of micromanagement, and there were marching orders. But right before Stand & Deliver we (he and Vince) talked about going my way

“Once again, we will continue to involve these young men and women in the system. We will still show them on TV, but I need to do it in a way that works for them. We know their limits. We know what they’re capable of doing.” What they couldn’t do. I feel like we have the ability to put them in better positions to achieve success,” Michaels said. “Would you mind, again, if someone got hit by a bus, it should be me, but would you trust me to do that? It was just getting that conversation, and that was right before Stand & Deliver, and that’s where I felt like we turned a corner.”
Michaels doesn’t blame anyone for this initial reluctance. “And in their defence, sure, tastes are different, but they were dealing with a guy who wasn’t in that role. I don’t blame anyone for not being sure, because they hadn’t seen me do it before, so maybe I needed to earn my streaks as well, which I haven’t encountered A problem with it for sure,” Michaels said. “But eventually we got to a point where the trust factor was there and we were able to take the reins a little bit more. And now obviously, Hunter trusts me a lot, which is different, and you can see that.”
